We provide Supported Housing services to individuals with learning disabilities and autism who require additional support to live independently and access their immediate community.
We also provide person-centred services, focused on supporting adults aged above 18 years old with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs to live independently in the community and achieve stated outcomes of Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
Our projects offer communal living accommodation, tailored to meet each individual/tenant’s wishes, needs and preferences. The project is staffed on a 24/7 basis and where required 1:1 or 2:1 staff to individual ratio can be provided. As part of the service provision, individuals are offered on-going support to manage and maintain their tenancy, support to live with other individuals in an amicable manner, promoting the promotion of independence in their Activities of Daily Living through active support, support to plan and achieve desired outcomes, access the community and leisure activities. Where required as part of their desired goals, our staff will support the individuals to explore employment opportunities, make and attend health and medical appointments, develop social networks in a variety of settings including clubs, drop in and community centres. Individuals will also be supported to observe and meet their religious and cultural obligations.
All our staff are DBS vetted, trained and experienced in supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, physical and sensory impairments. Staff training is an on-going process which will support our staff to develop professionally.
At Torkan Projects, we are subscribed to the Positive Behaviour support and are pledged to reduce restraints or any form of physical intervention as we support our individuals to be the best that they can be and be model members of the community.
